11:00 am – 12:00 pm Camden County Library Smartphone Shutterbugs Photographers of all skill levels are invited to join the Camden County Library Smartphone Shutterbugs. This is an adult program for ages 18 and up. We will meet on the second Thursday of the month from 11 am to 12 noon. Membership is open to local amateur photographers wanting to improve their skills, share their work, and exchange tips for taking better pictures using their smartphone. 11:00 am – 12:00 pm Invasive Plants in Missouri with MDC We will have a local agent with the Missouri Department of Conservation visiting us for a discussion on invasive plant species in Missouri. Some common invasive plants include Callery pear (a.k.a. Bradford Pear), Autumn Olive, Bush Honeysuckle, Canada thistle, crown vetch, common buckthorn, and others. Learn how to identify and control more than 25 of Missouri’s most invasive plants.
Invasive species consume wildlife habitats and compete with crops. The Missouri Invasive Plant Council (MoIP) is a multidiscipline group that works to bolster the efforts to identify and control invasive plants across the state.

Students will learn about slime and its basic ingredients in a series of hands-on activities. We will use polymer paper clips and cross-linking magnetic marbles to examine the properties of slime. We will also stir up multiple concoctions and test them in the Slime Olympics.
