Creation Station (MakerSpace) at the Camdenton Library
CNC Machine
Not familiar with term CNC? That’s okay, CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. This machine can be used to cut wood, plastics, and soft non-ferrous materials, to name a few. The CNC machine has a cutting area of 15.7in x 15.7 in x 3.9in and uses a 1/8″ bit for cutting.
Are you making a trip to the Camdenton Library? Check out our MakerSpace, The Creation Station, to scope out our 3D printers, a CNC Machine, videography equipment, musical instruments, and more. The Creation Station is open Mondays-Fridays from 9 am – 5 pm by appointment only.
3D Printers
We have two Prusa i3 MK3S+ 3D printers and a Prusa SL1S high-resolution resin printer with a wash and curing station for patrons. Those wishing to use the 3D printers may visit thingiverse.com to find pre-made print files or build their design using TinkerCad, or another 3D design source.
Files may be downloaded to a USB Flash drive and imported to our computers.
Or can be downloaded straight to them. Also, you may send your print to us via email for printing. Or you can create a lithophane, which was done initially on thin, translucent porcelain, but in this instance, we are using a 3D printer; once printed, the image is revealed when backlit. To learn how to do this, visit Image to Lithophane, upload your photo, and choose the shape. Once you have done this, you can download the file as a .stl and save it to a flash drive.
We now have two 3D printers for patrons at the Osage Beach Library!
Video/Photography Equipment
Whether you are a professional or an amateur photographer/videographer, we have video and photography equipment for public use. Moreover, we have a green screen, umbrella lights, an HD video camera, and a Mac with Adobe CC Suite to upload your photos/videos and make your final product look AMAZING!
Audio/Visual Equipment
Let your creativity shine by showing off your photography, video, and recording skills! We have a Sony HD video camera, green screen, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, and iMovie, to name a few software choices we have to help make your project(s) stand out.
Is music more your creative element? Don’t worry; we have you covered there as well. We have a MacBook loaded with Garage Band, Protools, Audacity software, studio monitors, microphones, headphones, and a midi keyboard for recording purposes.
Artists may use our musical equipment (bass guitar, electric guitar, two acoustic guitars, electronic drum kit, and electronic keyboard) or bring their own musical instruments to record or practice.
If the recording sessions require high volume levels, please contact one of our staff members to make an appointment, as loud volumes may need recording after we close for the evening.
Sewing Machine
We have recently added a sewing machine to our maker space. Along with the sewing machine, we provide needles and thread unless you use a specific color. Bring in your mending or other sewing projects today! Need to use a sewing machine for an extended period? Check out our Library of Things and visit DIY Tools to place a hold on one of our machines.
VHS/DVD to Digital
Our newest edition to the Creation Station consists of a VHS/DVD-to-digital converter. With this device, you can playback and record VHS tapes or DVDs to our computers and save them to a flash drive, or you can use our DVD burner to burn your videos to disk. While the converter is free, we do not provide the discs to burn your videos onto.
